Harmonious sounds of magnificent hymns, a festive cross procession, thousands of joyous faces, bright smiles, and a sea of flowers... Such have been the Tikhvin days at our monastery.
This feast, both magnificent and moving at the same time, has become so joyful and warm only thanks to your love and support. How many people have been readily helping us: laying way out of flowers, cleaning up and decorating the territory, cooking and giving away treats and gifts, registering requests for personal rites and molebens, participating in the concert – everything cannot even be listed. And, of course, the most important thing was that so many people – men and women, young and elderly, entire families with children – were praying together with us to the Lord and the Most Holy Lady Theotokos on those days. This prayerful unity was felt especially strongly when at the All-Night-Vigil all of us – the clergy, nuns, and pilgrims were singing an akathyst to the Most Blessed Lady in front of the venerated Tikhvin icon.

All the services in those days were by tradition performed by archbishop Vikenty; he was also the one to head the cross procession at which a merry summer shower abundantly sprinkled everybody with water. It seemed, though, like the unexpected rainy weather did not upset anybody. A great joy for us has been the presence at the feast of the Moscow Conception monastery abbess Mother Superior Iulianiya (Kaleda). The Commander-in-chief of the OSK "Center" troops, general-lieutenant Vladimir Chirkin visited the festivities as well. Awards signed by the hierarch have been given to various monastery laborers who have been laboring in our monastery for the good of the Holy Church for many years.
At the completion of the festivities was a performance of a People's Artist of Russia, singer of folk songs, Tatyana Petrova accompanied by the "Ural" quartet, as well as the choir of the Higher missionary courses "Turtle-dove," and choirs from Sunday school and the Orthodox Lyceum.
