The visit of bishop Timofey

Christ is Risen!

In the days of the apodosis of Pascha, the sisters of our monastery were having a double feast. Metropolitan Timofey of Vostr (the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem) visited the abode. A long-standing friendship unites us with bishop Timofey. From the day of the foundation of the monastery, the Bishop takes a keen interest in its life; he does not forget our abode in his prayers at the Lord's Tomb. Prayers are also offered up for metropolitan Timofey in the abode. Our meeting with the Bishop took place owing to the churchwarden of the monastery Igor Alekseyevich Altushkin, the president of the Russian Copper Company.
Igor Alekseyevich is at the same time a benefactor of the Jerusalem Patriarchate.
For his services to the Church he has been awarded seven orders of the Russian Orthodox Church and two orders of the Cross of the Lord's Tomb from the Jerusalem Church.
Every arrival of bishop Timofey is a great joy for us. We show him what is new at our obediences, churches, and the orphanage for the girls. This time our foster children performed a small concert; they played flute, piano, and violin. During this visit, the Bishop made us particularly happy: he served the Liturgy of the feast on May 31st. A hierarchal service was done for the first time in our skete.
